Dear Scarlet,
This is a beautiful book --the publishers made it special by making it look like the original published book with the red and green text. My girls used to watch the movie, "The Never Ending Story," over and over and over and over again. I was sick of that movie! But I knew it had some great anthropomorphic characters in it, so I chose it.
I was surprised when I started reading it that I couldn't put the book down. I was surprised to see that it was different than the movie and MUCH BETTER!!!! In fact, what the movie "tried" to show ends at less than halfway through the book. The second half is super exciting.
This book has fantasy, evil, unusual characters, a quest, and also has not one story going, but MANY stories going --becoming a true neverending story (you will understand this as you read). This book made my list of the best books I read this summer, and I read them all!!! Get ready. You are going to have a great time reading, "The Neverending Story!"

“If you stop to think about it, you’ll have to admit that all the stories in the world consist essentially of twenty-six letters. The letters are always the same, only the arrangement varies. From letters words are formed, from words sentences, from sentences chapters, and from chapters stories.”
