G.T. students in grades 2-6 performed Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" for the public December 11-14, 2014. Our version used Dickens's original language and stayed true to the spirit of his story --lines were taken directly from his book and scenes were condensed so that it might be performed by children. Students were involved in an indepth look at the power of the arts to influence people for the good --they learned about Victorian England and the life of Charles Dickens, especially as it influenced his writing. Everything was magical; we even had snow. The cast party found us entertaining several area nursing homes in costume, singing at the Turtle Creek Mall, pizza, and an evening of caroling to local shut-ins.
