The photograph on the left was taken at a beautiful Jewish restaurant in the Krakow, Poland. In 1998, I participated in a Fulbright Group Projects Abroad to Eastern Europe, spending six weeks in the place where so much of Holocaust history occurred. We visited sites in Poland (Auschwitz was among those) and in the Czech Republic (Terezin and Lidice). 

Seeing firsthand those places forever changed my life.
