Dear Eve,
I read about 35 anthropomorphic books this summer. I loved reading in this genre. If I were to pick my top 3 favorite reads of the summer, "Fire Bringer" just might be at the TOP. WOW!!! It starts out with a bang and keeps going and going. I had to force myself to slow down because I was reading so fast to see what was going to happen, I knew I was missing information I need to know. This book has it all --characters you will grow to love deeply and never forget, and villains that are so horrible and evil, they will forever be among the most ghastly you will ever encounter in a book. I will definitely read this book again. I was sad when it was over --I wanted it to go on and on. I believe this will be the very BEST book you have ever read in your life! Ms Hesse |
"When the Lore is bruised and broken,
Shattered like a blasted tree
Then shall Herne be justly woken,
Born to set the Herla Free
On his brow a leaf of oaken
Changeling Child shall be his fate
Understanding words strange spoken
Chased by anger, fear and hate
He shall flee o'er hill and heather
And shall go were no deer can
Knowing secrets dark to Lera
Till his need to summon man
Air, Water, Earth and Fire,
All shall ease his bitter pain
Till the elements conspire
To restor the island chain
First the Highland grass shall flower
As he quests from wind to snow
Then he breaks an ancient power
And returns to face his woe
When the lord of lies upbraids him
Then his wrath shall cloak the sun
And the Herla foe shall aid him
To confront the evil one
Sacrifice shall be his meaning
He the darkest secret learn,
Truths of beast and man revealing
Touching on the heart of Herne.
Fawn pf moonlight ever after,
So shall all the Hera sing
For the days shall herald laughter,
Born a healer and a king.
