Dear Will,
Dick King-Smith was one of the very best anthropomorphic novelists. He wrote a couple of books that had a pig as the main character. Why pigs? Did you know pigs are VERY smart? They are! Some people love their pot-belly pigs so much that they keep them in their house. They can be trained to do a lot of things. I also think Dick King-Smith must have thought pigs make fun characters --they funny to look at --they are pink, they love mud --there are so many funny things about pigs.
"Babe" is about a VERY special pig who has an unexpected talent. He becomes a hero, doing something no pig should ever be able to do. I also love the book, "Babe," because this pig teaches us so many lessons: it's okay to be different, believe in yourself, do the right thing, the list goes on. You are going to love reading, "BABE."
