Who say's algebra can't be creative? Students in grades 2-6 chose a verbal algebra problem to solve using their own illustrations and their own way of organizing and showing the problem. They then set out to solve the problem. This activity magnifies the requirement on the Arkansas Benchmark test in mathematics to "show your work." The projects were displayed in the hallway for all to marvel at and enjoy AND are displayed below in a slideshow! (The students' names have been smudged for privacy.)
