PLAY COMING MAY 2023
BELOW IS THE DAILY "MEETING" SLIDE THAT LETS STUDENTS KNOW WHAT THE FOCUS IS FOR THAT DAY --
LIFE IS A JOURNEYAll of life is a journey that is not dependent on distance. For Wilbur --his journey begins at Fern's, moves to Mr. Zuckerman's and then the county fair before returning back to the Zuckerman barn. For the heros of Homer's, "The Iliad and the Odyssey," their life journey takes them many places. The rabbits of "Watership Down" see their journey as vast, yet it does not cover many miles. The way we journey and our attitude about what we encounter on our journey is dependent upon our attitude and our choices.
This year's focus searches for the truths that are found in those three books to equip us with skills and the awareness we need to travel our own journey. |
The drop down menu for "Charlotte's Web" shows activities for students' reading "Charlotte's Web," those reading Homer's, "The Iliad and the Odyssey" and also for Richard Adams,' "Watership Down." Those books --like "Charlotte's Web" --are about life's journey that can occur in one place, a general area, or across the miles. Despite the distance, the lessons of friendship, life, loss, and sacrifice are there, waiting to be discovered.
Students in grades 2 - 7 will be involved in our production of "Charlotte's Web," however older students have previously read the book and will be approaching the story's wisdom following a different path.
